Description
Our tea tree essential oil is grown, hand-picked and gently steam distilled from fresh leaves and twigs by small-scale distillers from the dry plains between the Aberdare Ranges and Mt Kenya. This unforgiving dry and hot habitat with unpredictable rain has given our tea tree oil a distinct terroir — earthy, camphoraceous, woodsy and lemony. The scent cures into a more homogeneous identity with time.
The following are the scientifically-proven benefits of tea tree essential oil. It is antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal and therefore generally considered antiinfectious, antiseptic and antitoxic. These benefits are attributed to the terpinen-4-ol. Other equally important benefits of the oil include: antiinflammatory, antidandruff, antiacne and also anti-skintags.
The oil blends well with lemongrass, lemon verbena, lemon oil, lime oil, frankincense, geranium, rosemary, eucalyptus (citriodora and globulus) and cedarwood.
