Description
This is a rare and indigenous oil distilled from the leaves and twigs of the perennial shrub Lippia kituiensis. The shrub is native to Tanzania and Kenya, and even the epithet kituiensis refers to the Kitui County in Kenya. Traditionally, its aromatic leaves have been used as insect repellents, and the oil has remained true to this important benefit. As a member of the Verbenaceae family, it has that sweet lemon scent overwhelmed by the wild and bushy camphoraceous base notes.
